What is African Black Soap?
The African Black Soap is a soap that made from the ash of harvested plants and barks such a plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves, and shea tree bark.
It is an amazing natural skincare treatment for those who suffer with acne!
How is it made?
The leaves and bark are sun-dried and roasted in a kettle or pot, at a constant temperature, which is important because it ensures color, texture and smell. Then water and various oils - palm oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, Shea butter and cocoa pod powder are added to the mix and stirred for at least a day. The "soap" is then left to set for two weeks to cure. Each tribe and community in Africa has their own method and specific oils and butters that they use to create this organic soap.
What is African Black Soap good for?
African Black Soap is great for treating troubled skin. There are several used for Black African Soap which includes: fine wrinkles, dark spots, eczema, razor bumps, clearing blemishes, acne, and rashes. It is also used as a light exfoliator.
In addition to skin treatment, Black African Soap can also be used on your hair, to treat scalp irritations. The plantain skins give the soap Vitamin A & E, and iron. This soap has the highest Shea Butter content of any soap which means it also offers UV protection.
The soap is also amazing for sensitive skin, meaning its a good option for babies or the elderly.
